Isha Vidhya Alumni: On A Career Path Of Their Dreams
Isha Vidhya alumni credit their alma mater and teachers for all their achievements. Today, when they are in college, aiming for their dream careers, they hold dear the memories of innovative teaching techniques, nurture, and encouragement that they received in school.
Each one of the Isha Vidhya alumni credits all academic achievements to the teaching methods at Isha Vidhya schools and, more importantly, to their teachers. Having moved on to institutions of higher education, they are now even more appreciative of their alma mater for its role in shaping them.
First medical college entrant from Isha Vidhya
Keerthana, one of the toppers of Isha Vidhya Coimbatore, recently secured admission to the Government Medical College in Coimbatore. This is a first for an Isha Vidhya student.
She attributes her accomplishments to her teachers and other school staff. According to her, Isha Vidhya's teachers are committed to getting the best out of their students. She's sure Isha Vidhya's alumni will shine even brighter in the future.
This scholarship alumna, who joined Isha Vidhya in Class 1, consistently excelled in her studies and also won 3rd prize in a national art competition in 2016.
After becoming a doctor, Keerthana hopes to serve rural communities and help educate students just like her donors who supported her.
An IAS officer in the making
Ishwarya stood first in Class 10 with an outstanding score of 493/500. This spirited and talented alumna was also part of the throwball team that won at the district level.
She is now pursuing a B.Sc in Mathematics, her favorite subject, at PSG College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore. She aspires to become an IAS officer, more specifically a collector like Rohini Bhajibhakare, Tamil Nadu’s first woman IAS officer to become a collector.
Her teachers at Isha Vidhya Nagercoil remember that Ishwarya was a bold and talented student and laud her pursuits.
Ishwarya says that Isha Vidhya has given her a unique experience and has also taught her to treat people humanely, making her a better human being.

After graduating from Anna University, Chennai, with a Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology, Sowbarniga plans to do a management course and then set up her own textile mills.
She’s inspired to follow in the footsteps of young entrepreneurs like Ritesh Agarwal (CEO - Oyo Rooms and the world's second-youngest billionaire in 2020).
This alumna is so focused on achieving the goals that she’s now taken on extracurricular activities like becoming a member of the Entrepreneurship Club, the Rotaract Club, the YRC, the Student Quality Council, and the CEG Study Circle.
Fascinated with biotechnology and laboratories
Indumathi’s first brush with a lab was at her alma mater, Isha Vidhya Erode. She feels that Isha Vidhya's labs have fantastic facilities – which stimulated her interest and helped her learn well. The constant financial struggles of her father, a school dropout and a lorry driver, have motivated her to succeed in her studies. She was a school topper with a score of 97% in Class 10 and 75% in Class 12.
In pursuit of her favorite subjects - Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry - she’s now studying B.Sc in Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the Avinasilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore. She recently won a prize for making a video to generate awareness about the Coronavirus.
She fondly misses her Isha Vidhya teachers and is coping well with the transition to a larger campus education.

She attributes her accomplishments at Isha Vidhya to the method of teaching, encouragement to participate in extracurricular activities, freedom to express oneself, and nutritious food.
Although she misses Isha Vidhya, Sangeetha says she finds the progression to college exciting.
