An Isha Vidhya volunteer decides to literally paint a better future for kids in rural India.

Painting a Better Future

Sowmya Ram has been into pencil sketching since she was a teenager, but she never really pursued painting until she was gifted an oil paint set for her birthday 5 years ago. Suddenly came rushing a world of colours, so engrossing that she would paint 18 to 20 hours at a time. Sowmya describes painting as a bridge to a different world of unconditional and guaranteed fun, away from everyday chores.

Sowmya Ram

Sowmya recently decided to use her artistic talents to create awareness towards a cause she is deeply passionate about, Isha Vidhya. Associated with Isha Vidhya for the past 5 years, as a volunteer and fundraiser, she helps take education to underprivileged children in rural India, thus opening up a whole new world for them. Sowmya is putting her paintings up for sale to raise funds for Isha Vidhya. The donation amount is indicated, while shipping costs are borne by her. If you are interested in educating a child by purchasing some of her paintings, please make sure to reserve the painting by emailing Sowmya (sowmyadotramatgmaildotcom) filling out this form alongside the link/name of the painting.

Once you receive a confirmation, you can then donate the cost of the painting to Isha Vidhya through http://ishavidhya.org/donate-now/financial-donation.html.

After the donation is complete, please forward the confirmation email to Sowmya, along with the shipping address. She will then dispatch the painting to your shipping address within 5 working days and send you the tracking code.
