PGH has enabled the planting of over 35 million saplings with the involvement of more than 2 million volunteers since the project inception in 2004.

2004

77,151 saplings were planted by Isha volunteers as part of the “Velliangiri Hills Conservation Project” in association with the Tamil Nadu Forest Department to conserve the ecology of the mountain.

2005

42,303 saplings were planted in 6 tsunami-affected coastal areas with the help of more than 5,000 Isha volunteers in Cuddalore district.

2006

852,587 saplings were planted in 27 districts of Tamil Nadu and in Pondicherry with the participation of 256,289 volunteers, which led to a Guinness World Record.

2007

4,523,050 saplings were produced in 522 volunteer-driven nurseries and planted with the support of district administration, volunteers and the general public across Tamil Nadu.

2008

2,104,306 saplings were raised and distributed throughout Tamil Nadu.

2009

1,383,509 saplings were produced and planted by 43,889 people in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. The Green Tirupur Movement was launched, an urban greening program.

2010

2,104,306 saplings were produced and distributed for plantation. The Green Karur Movement was launched in Karur district. “Pasumai Thamizhagam” was launched in 16 main cities of Tamil Nadu including Madurai, Trichy, Thanjavur, Chidambaram, Coimbatore, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Pondicherry, Salem, Nagercoil and Chennai.

2011

23,73,095 saplings were produced and distributed for plantation. The Green School Movement was launched in Erode & Coimbatore, where school children produced and planted 640,107 saplings. Networking with NGOs in Pudukottai district helped to support agro-forestry plantation.

2012

2,941,532 saplings were produced and distributed for plantation across the state. The Green School Movement was implemented in Erode, Coimbatore, Krishnagiri district and Pondicherry where 30,955 school children from 593 schools raised 890,577 saplings through school nurseries.

2013

3,131,731 saplings were produced and distributed for plantation. The Green School Movement was launched in Trichy and 17,480 schoolchildren from 437 schools raised 745,589 saplings through school nurseries.

2014

3,600,000 saplings were produced and distributed for plantation across the state. The Green School Movement in Salem district was launched and 23,670 school children from 526 schools raised 903,487 saplings through school nurseries.

2015

3,670,825 saplings were produced and distributed for plantation across the state. The Green School Movement in Viluppuram was launched, where 6,800 school children from 170 schools raised 347,900 saplings through school nurseries.

2016

2,898,481 saplings were produced and distributed for plantation across the state. The Green School Movement in Viluppuram was continued for the second year, where 5,480 school children from 137 schools raised 226,302 saplings through school nurseries. In depth awareness generation for 40 champion green schools was given.

2017

3,037,452 saplings produced and distributed for plantation across the state. This year saw the continuation of the Green School Movement in Viluppuram for the third year. The Kanchipuram Green School Movement was launched and school children from 226 schools produced and planted 401,335 saplings. Isha's agro-forestry team made 407 farm visits in 24 districts, where 248 farmers planted 196,575 saplings in their farmland.

2018

4,137,452 saplings produced and distributed for plantation across the state. The Kanchipuram Green School Movement is continued for the second year with indepth awareness generation given for 40 champion green schools. The Vellore Green School Movement was launched with school children from 150 schools producing and planting 312,364 saplings. Isha's agro-forestry team made 1852 farm visits, where farmers planted 5,19,695 trees in their farmland. 2000 farmers were also trained in the 9-day Subhash Palekar Natural Farming program.
